Automatic numbering

ImageIf you already understand your reader in more detail with the issue of lists in HTML, you probably know already that they do not support any more complex ways of numbering the various points and sub-paragraphs. I mean, you can specify for example the following method of numbering:

Main Points – Roman numerals: I, II, III, …
Sections – Arabic numerals: 1, 2, 3, …
Sections of the second order – the letters a, b, c, …
But what if it does not suit us so, or numbering, we can not determine in advance how many will have levels of nesting? CSS gives you a simple remedy – automatic numbering, the ability to determine how any item numbering, eg:

Main Points: 1, 2, 3, …
Sections: 1.1., 1.2., 1.3., … 2.1., 2.2., 2.3., … 3.1., 3.2., 3.3., …
Sections of the second order: 1.1.1., 1.1.2., 1.1.3., … 1.2.1., 1.2.2., 1.2.3., … 2.1.1., 2.1.2., 2.1.3., … 2.2.1., 2.2.2., 2.2.3., …
and so on …
